Free Cartoon Character Artwork!

A very talented artist, Esa Holopainen, contacted us asking if we would be interested in providing some of the artists artwork for our Comic Life fans so as to create comics.

We said yes! And as a result Esa was kind enough to create 146 unique pieces of artwork that you can use to create your own comics using cartoon characters!

Characters include dog, bunny rabbit, bird, squirrel, and penguin. Also included are mobile phones, cameras, clocks and scenery backdrops like beaches and green hills.

There are two different packages available for download...
-- a .pdf package for Mac users - which look lovely in the new 1.4 version
-- a .png package for Windows users

It is free to use for non-commercial use. More detailed information within the downloaded package in the Right license.txt file.

UPDATE: To have multiple images in the one panel...

For Mac: Hold down the Command/Apple key
For Windows: Hold down the ALT key

... when dragging in the secondary image.

400 x 145 points (exported at 72 dpi)


400 x 400 points (exported at 72 dpi)

Any contributions here that makes us ROFLOL will be added to the \"Create your own strips!\" gallery and attributed to the username that you have used in your forum post!

Is there a way to install this artwork or do we just navigate to them like we would a folder on our desktop?

There is no way to install them, so your above statement is the right way

I downloaded the free cartoon artwork, but when I drag and drop the images into a panel, Comic Life only lets me put one image into each panel. How do you make a scene with a background and several foreground images?

If you download the png folder to desktop, drag and drop onto your iPhoto icon in dock. They will now be a selection in photos when you open Comic Life.

Move the first image to the panel.
Hold the apple (command key) down and move the second image to the panel. Resize as needed.

I've followed the instructions and I am able to use the cartoons. My problem is that I can't put more than one image into each panel. If I drag a background image into a panel and try to add a foreground image, then the foreground image replaces the background image. I am only allowed to put one image into each frame.

Oops. I didn't realize there was another page of posts for this topic. I just read your other reply, Nancy. I didn't know you could hold the Command button while dragging and dropping images. Thanks Nancy!

Hello - I'm having the same problem - on Windows though. How do I put images on a background? Thanks for any help!
